Autumn Study Groups 2008You are a letter... |
Did you know that the New Testament is composed of 118 chapters of letters (140 if we count in Revelation) and only 89 chapters of Gospels?
The course this autumn will guide us through reading the letters.
Can the letters be dated?
Do we know exactly who wrote them?
What do we know about the people who read them?
To what extent were they edited?
We will then move on to consider what is so important about the letters. Well, for one thing letters are “news”! Finally, we will look at Paul’s image of the church (that’s us, by the way) as an “Open letter”!
I hope this whets your appetite for our Autumn Course. We shall be running four sessions beginning in the week of October 20th. Once again, we will be offering as wide a choice of times for groups to meet as is practically possible. Fliers with information and application forms are available on lone here or on printed paper from the Church early in September.
