Friends of St. Andrew’s |
There has been a church on the site of St. Andrew’s since Anglo-Saxon times. Among the treasures of the present church are a Norman Arch, the beautiful Lady Chapel of 1442, the Prynne memorial of 1688, the fine tower and spire rebuilt in 1633, and the peal of bells installed in 1734. Many changes have been made since those days but all generations have loved, cared for and improved this building. It belongs to Chippenham’s historic heritage and we welcome visitors from near and far.
St. Andrew’s Church is driven by a vision that makes the best use of what we have inherited from the past so that we can make it available to present and future generations. The aims of the Friends of St. Andrew’s are:
Friends of St. Andrew’s members receive two newsletters per year and notification of events involving or sponsored by ‘The Friends’, for which concessions may be available.
