Coffee Shop

For over 20 years there has been a weekly coffee shop inside the church on a Wednesday morning from 9.30am – 12noon.

It’s a focal point for anyone in the community to come together in friendship over coffee and home-made cake. It has grown to become a popular social morning for all ages, from toddlers playing in our toy corner to retired people catching up with their friends. The number of volunteers has grown, and many have been involved for a long time, dedicated to giving our lovely customers a friendly service.

Our delightful array of home-made cakes is very popular, which is not surprising considering the quality of the cakes made, and many hours are spent slaving over a hot stove to achieve such culinary delights. The cost of the hot drinks and cakes is kept as low as possible so no-one needs to feel worried about whether they can afford it or not and it is also a warm space to come to for those chilly winter mornings.

A small group of volunteers run a card and second-hand book stall on alternate Wednesdays during the Coffee Shop, selling reasonably priced commercially purchased cards for all occasions and donated second hand paperbacks to our Coffee Shop visitors.
